Grantown Museum tells the story of the town's beginnings and is worth a visit. The fishing on the River Spey is world renowned with salmon and trout the main catches. For those with less patience, why not take a stroll along the Speyside Way and absorb the delights of the area's many distilleries on the equally famous Whisky Trail. For the more energetic, the new Grantown Mountain Bike Skills Trail is well worth a look. And there are water and outdoor sports aplenty on offer at Craggan Outdoors, a TripAdvisor top-rated 'thing to do' in Scotland. The centre won the 'Best Visitor Experience' category at the 2010 Highlands & Islands Tourism awards. |

Grantown-on-Spey Golf Course is an 18-hole course that was founded in 1890. It is situated in Strathspey approximately thirty-five miles southeast of Inverness in Scotland. From humble beginnings, the golf club has evolved over the years and in 1999 a major extension and refurbishment was carried out to the clubhouse to bring it up to standard. The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival is held on the last weekend in April. The Strathspey in May - festival has been running for seven years at the beginning of May and its focus is on traditional music. Figgat Fair takes place on the last Saturday in July. The Annual Strathspey Farmers' Club Grantown Show is held on the second Thursday in August. The Highland Games take place on 24th August at Heathfield Park. Motor Mania and Try-triathalon are held on the first Sunday in September, with Hogmanay on 31st December at Grantown-on-Spey's Hogmanay Party in the Square!
